In my humble opinion, Heyoka is the Bay Area’s new low frequency specialist…. Described as a cosmic auditory scientist, Andrei Olenev is on his third solid EP in little over a year. His influences are heavy in the dub region, but there’s a generous amount of midtempo bump and a heaping helping of squishy bass to finish it off. Heyoka has been opening for acts like Benga, Skream, and the almighty Tipper, so keep your ears open for this cat. His new EP is called Whomp Gland, and this track is “Diesel.”
