It was this very day a friend of mine sent me a few MP3s by Forest Swords, the experimental, psychedelic, ambient project of Liverpool producer Matt Barnes. The track that immediately caught my ear was "If Your Girl", a very dark cover of Aaliyah's "If Your Girl Only Knew". The rest of his EP, titled "Dagger Paths", carries along the same vibe, with "Glory Gongs" being the other main standout track. The album got a pretty nice review on Pitchfork recently (Some of the most brutal music critics around).
