Move over Tim Hecker – looks like I just discovered a new favorite ambient artist. I developed a distinct taste for “ambient” “soundscape” music from many nights listening to hearts of space on NPR with my father. Interesting how our childhoods shape us all. The music my parents played for me as a child and the music I listened to is still a bedrock of my centralized taste.
I digress. I discovered Samoyed off a really wonderful mix he did for Luckyme Fam recently. I strongly suggest you go grab it as it’s very well put together. Sam’s album Always from this point is more consistent and if one were to classify – shoegazy. Have I mentioned how much I hate labels?? The orchestration, especially on this one particular track has this wonderful build and swell.

The image is of a photographer I stumbled upon haphazardly (aren’t all interweb discoveries haphazard and unexpected ) and was taken by the mystery of her shots.
