Take | Earthtones & Concrete

The ever talented and busy Los Angeles artist Take released this album towards the end of 2007. I don’t think this guy ever sleeps. His more recent Plus Ultra EP is unbelieveable, a must have. He collaborates with Ras G from time to time, you can hear similarities in their music. But really… what I’m waiting for is Thomas 2000, Take’s alter ego. It will be out on vinyl at Rush Hour, but we really need some mp3’s! I’ll probably buy the vinyl as well. Here’s a write up from his myspace page:

“After realeasing numerous sucessful EP’s on labels like Buttermilk, Poobah, Swedish Brandy, and Astro Lab, and working/remixing artists like Daedelus (Ninja Tune), Caural (Chocolate Industries, Mush), Rednose Distrikt (Rush Hour), TAKE drops his Long Awaited full length. “Earthtones & Concrete“ is 18 tracks that further blur the line between instrumental Hip Hop and Outer Space. “ These songs are nothing short of epic journeys, continuously evolving compositional collages that lead the listener down a dust covered road of bit-crushed melodies and molested jazz samples. Think Brian Eno meets J Dilla..”
