The song, “Truth” by Alexander starts out with an Ennio Morricone whistling over an acoustic guitar loop and light jazzy beat. Then comes in the falsetto ooos and ahs. Once the psuedo rapping cadence of Alex Ebert floats in we hear hints of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (probably because Alex fronts the band) yet with a tinge of Grizzly Bear . I absolutely fell in love with this song the second I heard it for first time because not only the melody but the lyrics also carry great meaning. Take a deep listen and find out for yourself why Alex Ebert shines either with or without his band behind him. A truly gifted artist.
